Language 6-9 Months

Language: Your baby starts responding to their name by turning their head. They start nodding and shaking their heads [they may not understand what yes and no mean yet] to get your attention. Your little one may also choose to use facial expressions and high pitched noises as part of their communication and eagerness to be understood. Talk, sing lullabies that have short phrases, show images, express with your face/hands and read to your baby- your involvement in communicating with your baby is all beneficial. Remember they are observing, analyzing, memorizing and eventually imitating what happens around them. Language development improves when they pay close attention to the sound repetition, body language, word rhythm; as parents, you have the opportunity to make learning FUN! The manifestation of your kid’s feelings through body language and babbling is how the start showing their personality.
